Kiremba - 1

Breaking the mould on what we've all come to expect from Kenyan coffees - from flavour profile to seasonal availability - we recently teamed up with Vava Coffee to explore producing regions further afield and go beyond the ordinary to show there is no such thing as a typical Kenyan coffee. Second in a series of four wildly delicious coffees is Kiremba, from Nakuru County. Home to the Menengai Crater, an extinct volcano that rises to a height of 2490m. Located in the Great Rift Valley, where nutrient-rich volcanic soil and high altitudes create ideal conditions for coffee cultivation, farmers delivering to Kiremba Factory cultivate SL-28, SL-34 and Ruiru-11 varieties in small coffee gardens. Kiremba Factory is managed by Kiremba Farmers' Cooperative Society (FCS) and has 120 members who deliver their cherry to the factory. Think bright orange flavours with crisp, fruit-forward notes. We simply adore this juicy cup.
