Introducing a new espresso from Oaxaca, Mexico, Ozolotepec! Sourced through Red Beetle Coffee Labs, the importer here is Osito Coffee. The "Ozolotepeques" - several towns with names like San Francisco Ozolotepec, San Juan Ozolotepec, etc. - are a cluster of communities in the Sierra Sur area of Oaxaca. Red Beetle has been working here since their inception, working with an on-the-ground "selector" named Leo. Ozolotepec coffees are known for a profile with a biscuit-like sweetness and notes of golden and baked granny smith apple ranging to a crisp acidity like a fresh green apple. Sadly, the area was heavily affected by Hurricane Agatha earlier this year, and via Red Beetle, Osito raised money for the specific communities they buy from. Although these farms might take a few harvests to recover completely, we're happy to enjoy coffee from the most recent harvest.
